The Challenge

The Church Website Design Project was originally founded in 2001 with a Tuesday night study group, growing over two decades to design and host websites for faith and community organisations worldwide.

Over time, the project’s digital presence struggled to keep pace with its expanding mission, and Covid-19 lockdowns temporarily brought operations to a halt. As communities re-opened, a passionate new team stepped in to revive the project.

They required a complete overhaul to modernize, simplify, and rebrand their online home with an aesthetic reflective of the organization’s core DNA.

Key Challenge

Legacy Architecture

Two decades of accumulated content and legacy links made navigation difficult and caused mobile layout breakages.

Operational Goal

Volunteer Independence

Non-technical volunteers needed to publish weekly updates, sermon audio, and hall bookings without touching code.

The Brief

The new website required modern, uplifting design elements that conveyed character and a strong sense of family, while remaining accessible to those who appreciate traditional layouts.

The site needed to raise awareness of their outreach, welcoming visitors to offer or request support. Key technical requirements included:

✓
Outreach & Welcoming Experience:Prominently welcoming newcomers, highlighting charity drives, and providing clear paths to request or offer community support.
✓
Integrated Hall & Room Reservation:An embedded Google Calendar system specifically designed for room and hall booking requests without double-bookings.
✓
Dynamic Feeds & Media Sync:Real-time social media streams from Instagram and Facebook synced alongside news articles and sermon audio archives.

The Process

Design was the first step in championing their mission. We created a clean, welcoming layout that was effortless to navigate on any device. In the process, obsolete legacy links were resolved, and outdated copy was rewritten to reflect current community initiatives.

We structured the site on an intuitive WordPress foundation, allowing non-technical volunteers to update content without difficulty. We embedded a tailored Google Calendar specifically designed for their room and hall booking needs. Upcoming events and real-time social media feeds were introduced to the front page to highlight weekly gatherings and charity drives.

The Solution

The website is now vibrant, accessible, and welcoming. Visitors can easily discover services, request outreach support, and learn how the project strengthens community bonds.
